thisislou 13 Posted November 30, 2010 It will be 5 months on the 14th of December and all is wonderful. I just now am at a stall and actually gained ½ pound last week… but I can eat more and am hungry more often. Something I need to work hard on. It was too hard to get to this point and I do not want failure.. But anyway – I’m asking if anyone else experiences the same thing when they eat a bit too much? When I do, my noise gets stuffed up and I need to blow it and I get cold chills. I also seem to be a bit colder then I was. My wife said it is because I do not have all the extra body fat. Might be. **LaSaJaTa** 4 Posted November 30, 2010 I too am COLD! In fact, i've started wearing PJ's to bed, and my husband DOES NOT LIKE IT on bit! It's strange, everyone else in my family is VERY slim, (kids and husband) and they do not feel cold. Why me?
coops 1,790 Posted November 30, 2010 yep same here, I too get cold easily, whereas before surgery I didn't! And I have had a 'cold' moreoften too... think the body needs longer that I realised to adjust. I don't get the stuffy nose though... in the early days I used to get hicups... but nothing now! Dansha 16 Posted December 1, 2010 I am soooooo cold at work. I have to wear a sweater, hoodie, and jacket and am still cold. I am about to pull out the long johns. LOL. Does anyone know if and when it gets better? Deb
Globetrotter 1,340 Posted December 1, 2010 Nope, not me. It is December now, so of course I wear a fleece in the mornings outdoors, but othewise, nope, not cold! Maybe I haven't lost enough weight yet for that to kick in. Also, I am 5 months out and am also in a stall - without overeating. I track every single mouthful of food in my online food tracker to keep me on the right path and even with that, I lost one stinkin' pound three weeks ago, and nothing since! To say it is depressing is putting it mildly.
Lisalu 89 Posted December 1, 2010 I'm cold all the time. I frequently wear long johns even though I live in AZ. I remember being cold a lot in my 20s. I thought I was getting warmer because I was nearing menopause. Nope, I was just fat. I probably AM nearing menopause (I'm 48) but I'm still cold all the time. There are worse things. Think how much I'll save on AC next summer!
currysusan123 2 Posted December 1, 2010 Yep! When I am full, my nose runs and I sometimes get chills. Also, I am COLD all the time which was not normal before surgery. I am 5 months post op. I've lost 79 lbs. but I still weigh 286 lbs. I new my temperature guage would change, but I didn't expect it to be so soon. I thought when I get to 150, but not yet...Before surgery, I would sweat constantly, and NEVER used a jacket, even in the coldest of winter. NOW I sleep with electric blanket and sit with a heating pad to keep me warm. Weird huh.
