Crabadams72 20 Posted November 29, 2010 Since I started getting info on the sleeve earlier this month I have been having these lucid dreams about how I am going to feel and look once I get down to my goal weight. I actually remember thinking I was fat back then (little did I know!). Even my husband is getting excited. The pace of things is going great also. I started this journey without having a PCP--i moved to MD 3 yrs ago and I visited another Dr I did not like. I've been going to the GYN and not a regular Dr. So I picked one out my provider manual and the Dr. I went to did her residency in BARIATRICS!. She was so supportive! I got called today for my Surgeon appointment.-scheduled Dec 27th. Getting off early on this day is going to be tricky but I am going to work it out somehow. (Monday following Xmas) I changed insurance in time to get in a plan with no deductable. Which is better than the 15% surgeon fee and operating room fees. That sounds AWESOME~ I just had my first surgeon appt about a week and a half ago, and I too was shocked to find out there was no out of pocket cost at all! AMAZING! It seems to be moving ahead quickie for which im excited and a lil nervous. I have my NUT appt. this week and my PHYSC next week and on the 15th I have my second surgeon apt. I think that he said if my other two appts were complete when he saw me next we could pick a surgery date and schedule labs! OMG …. I am excited about my new body too and am amazed at how quickly this is transpiring~

I'm starting to change some things now so it won't hit so hard once the surgery comes. I started drinking more Water. Cut out sodas (I had one today but it wasn't that good to me-no urge for another one). Changed my menu plans and I am going to sign up for the local community center gym. Ibejjo 47 Posted December 5, 2010 I thought I was the only one who did that. Since my Kaiser Options classes ended on October 26 I have had similar dreams. In my dreams, I am eating less due to the sugery and exercising regularly. I am proud of all of my weight loss and I am actually happy on the inside because I am finally losing the weight and I know that if I continue to stick to the program that I will get to my goal of 145 or possible lower. It feels so real that when I wake up it hard to believe that it was just a dream. I know that it is more than a dream, I know its a real glimps of what my near reality will be with the help of the sleeve surgery and my determination to make it come true. I wish you all the best and I know we will have meet our goals with this sleeve as our foundation.
Suchateacher 0 Posted December 5, 2010 I'm scheduled to have the surgery on Dec 14. Everything has gone so quickly .... it's exciting and scary all at the same time. I've not ever been small-sized, so I don't have any idea of what I might look like after several weeks or months of weight-loss. I keep reading and watching videos on YouTube from people who've had the surgery ... some are great, a few make you wonder, but none of them are going to stop me! Sure there are people way larger than me (I'm 291 lbs as of yesterday's weigh-in at the pre-op education meeting), but to me, I'm this huge thing. I've been cutting out foods and beverages that I know I won't be able to consume after the surgery, so I have actually lost a bit of weight. The hard part for me is giving up coffee and champagne. I really like both, especially my morning coffee. But the acids that coffee produce (but tea does NOT produce) make it an item I can no longer have. I've had my last cup of coffee today. Each day for the last three months I've been reducing the number of cups of coffee. There is absolutely NO coffee product left in the apartment .... and I'm actually okay about that. I found out that tea, regular or herbal is okay, so I'll still be able to have that hot cuppa each morning or even during the school day. A hot drink eases my throat .... being a teacher, I talk alot during the school-day and need that warmth to soothe my throat. I am working on drinking more Water everyday by flavoring it with crystal light fruit punch flavor. It makes the Water taste more like Kool Aid or Hawaiian Punch. Since I am one of those people who does not drink very much water at all, this is a really big issue for me. lt's a big deal that I've gotten myself to finish a 24 oz bottle of water in a day. I've really got a lot of work to do on this! Okay... l'll post again later....
