Trace Curry 1 Posted June 14, 2006 Basically anything that irritates the stomach can cause gurgling. Plus a tight band from something stuck causes a little swelling. Just a guess I don't think anyone knows the real answer. C

Jachut 487 Posted June 14, 2006 For me, I dont know if I "gurgle" in the true sense of the word, like its not like liquid going down the sink. But it happens randomly, not when I eat or drink necessarily. Its like I dont often burp in the normal sense of the word anymore, but the burp happens in my stomach, air moves from the lower stomach to the upper through the stoma and that makes a long gurgling burp and then the gas just dissipates and I dont burp in my throat like I once would have. Does that make any sense? I can feel the air bubble through and it makes a loud rumble. It is a bit embarrassing, lol.
hopefull 0 Posted June 15, 2006 I asked my Dr about gurgling as I do have it sometimes and I mean all day even if I'm not eating at the time. He said banded people do have more internal gas than others. There is the tendency for us not to burp as much, especially the tighter the band. The gas that is normally expelled burping will now travel south to be expelled from the bottom! Thus...the gurgling. Some foods make it worse, especially greens. Hope that helps.
