Ten weeks out - not as easy as I thought...

Hmmm, my dietician told me to try and aim for 1000 cals per day to prevent the body going into starvation mode. But I guess everyone is different.

I went to the gym twice over the weekend for resistance training, and have really upped my Water intake. Finally dropped 2lb. Hopefully it continues!

When I just had my 8 week check up last week I was told to up my caloric intake (I was doing 800-900 a day and was constantly stalling) to 1000-1200. I started doing that and I have lost 2.5 lbs this week by eating more - it's crazy. I am getting around 60 grams of Protein a day but eating way too many carbs (sometimes 80-100) but with the increase in calories started losing again. Right now I have not started exercising so I would imagine with your swimming you might need to get in more than 1000 calories because you are burning so much of it up. You might want to just try it for a day or two to see if you start to lose. I have been amazed all week watching the scale.< /p>

Hi 2steps!

Well, I think you have already explained your problems. Now only to fix them. You have to leave the alcohol and corn puffs alone until you reach goal. I know, easier said than done... but just remember - it's not forever! Or at least until you fit your Christmas gown. It's only 7 Lbs.. you can definitely still get into it by Christmas.

Also, you do need to change up your workout. Our bodies get acclimated to the same workout, especially if it's all we do every day. Try some new workouts, integrate some weights and more cardio.

You will do fine. Sometimes we just go through these crazy stalls. Also, remember you are a lightweight. You lost incredibly fast in the beginning, your body may just be playing catch-up right now.

I would say try to add some weight traning and WATER!!! Not flavored drinks, coffee, tea, etc. Just water! And I too have heard that sometimes you need to eat more to lose.

Hey everyone.

I just wanted to thank you all for your input on this.

I upped my Water intake, did three sessions of resistance training, and hey presto - down 5lb!

I am very pleased that things started moving again, and with such little effort! Never would have happened prior to surgery. I would have felt beaten and gotten back into old habits. Not so anymore!

Looks like that dress might be doable by Christmas after all, we shall see! I might even post pics if I wear it :)

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
