Hello, all.

Are there any among you with 100+lbs to lose? I have a few questions and I'd like to see how it's going for others like me.

I lost 138lbs in 10.5 months with the sleeve. Ask as many questions as you'd like, we're here to help ! ! !

Tiffykins,

What type of foods did you eat during the losing phase to keep your carbs around 30. I have been paying closer attention to the carbs and am shocked the number of carbs in most foods.

Thanks

Lisa

meat, cheese, and eggs. Some refried and pinto Beans, but for the most part it was all meat. I used Greek yogurt instead of mayo/miracle whip for tuna/egg/chicken salads, and subbed Greek yogurt for sour cream. The main carbs I ate were from the cheese. I stuck with green Beans and broccoli for greens.

Well hello there, if you check out the forum you'll see a lot of us have or had over 100 lbs to lose. Check out my ticker and I still have have about 30 or so lbs left! It's been 10 1/2 months now since my surgery. . .i've been doing good up to now, never any complications and the best part i love missing those clothing sizes. . .tried on a mini skirt last night which had been sitting in my closet for over a year cause it never fit ever, still had tags on it and all. . well put it on and it dropped off. . . guess it wasn't meant to be huh??? Ask away!

I am trying to lose about 230 lbs. Just got sleeved last week. Just hope to keep losing!

You have a lot to lose but you know what? YOU CAN DO IT!!! Just like the rest of us, just get down with it and GO!!! You'll get it once you get used to this thingy! It takes a bit to adjust but just like riding a bike, wobbly in the beginning but a true trooper once you get started! Good luck and keep writing and posting here, it helps alot, especially if you feel down or like you can't go on. . . it's helped me alot. . . even the odd disagreement helps!

I have about 120ish here to lose! Just had surgery last Monday, so i'm not that far in my journey yet :( Those of you who did have 100+ lbs to lose and are farther along in your journey, what kinds of exercise routine did you follow? I don't have time to exercise 2 hrs a day , but I would like to get this weight off!!

When I reach goal, in total I will have lost nearly 180 Lbs. That's a lot!!!

I'm pert halfway there. I feel great and in charge of my life again. A few bites and I'm full - and SATISFIED. I don't think I really understood what that word meant until only recently, and I'm previously banded - so that's saying tons.

My workout routine is about 30-45 minutes per day about 4-5 days per week. That's nothing for me too. I used to do 2 hrs per day 6 days a week. Glad I don't have to do that anymore!

I was just sleeved on November 10th. I am down 20 lbs since surgery. I am looking to loose 180 more lbs.

So far I am sticking true to the puree diet and getting creative.

I bought a non flavor Protein powder to put into all my pureed food, and I keeping the liquids going in.

One thing I am definitely learning....stay off the scale lol. It can be your worse enemy.

Good luck!!!!

You are correct! "stay off the scale it can be your worse enemy."

I found that I can only weigh on Monday or I am obsessed with what I eat everyday. That has really helped me.

Well, I am still pre-op and started with my ***'s program at 300lbs. I have lost 22 lbs so far on my own, and MY goal for myself would be 165. That would put my total weight loss at 135 pounds. My doctor origionally wanted my goal to be 135. I laughed. I probably weighed that in 5th grade.

But frankly, at this point, I look at it by each meal, each half pound lost, each day being closer to surgery and closer to my goal.

I started at around 260, and would like to get to 140-145 so that will be 115-120 to lose.

I am just 4 months out and have lost 65lbs so far - hoping to get to goal by my 1 yr anniversary.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
