I am a little more than 3 months post-op and I just got blood work back from the doc. She recommends taking 2000iu of Vitamin D3 daily. What is this and is it going to help me not feel tired all the time?

D3 is vital to your immune system, and yes you will feel MUCH better. Our bodies naturally produce D3 from sun exposure, I live near Seattle Washington and Washington has the highest rates of multiple scelrosis in yhe nation, which is directly linked D3 deficiency. I've taken it for awhile (even before surgery) and have niticed a boost in my energy and overall feel better.

I was feeling a little "low", got my D tested and it was very low... started taking large doses (prescribed by my Dr) then regular over the counter D3. It made me feel much better. I use a lot of sun screen, this can cause low D.

Most people are deficient in Vit D 3. It's something doctors only recently started testing for.

I take 50,000 units once per week. That seems to be the best way it's absorbed.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
