after loosing pound after pound and reaching your goal weight what will consume your life. I feel like now I am so focused on working out and going to the gym and eating right... That once I get there (which is awhile away) but that I will some how loose my focus and gain weight again. Does anyone think about the future and what it holds with your weight? What about the ones that have reached there goal weight? Do you feel lost now? What do i have to look forward to?

Very good question. I am still pre-band. One thing to consider, those that have won the battle and reached their goal weight are leading successful lives and are no longer on this board. They are consumed with living their normal weight lives. Personally, I can't wait! :)

My twins are 4 and by the time I am at goal, they will be more active in sports and school. I also want to get them more involved with my sports, mainly riding bikes. As they get older, I want to go on longer rides with them...

I think the answer for me is to remain active and to keep being a healthy role model for my children. I don't think I will lose my focus, even if I am not as consumed with this like I am now. Makes sense??

I guess my goal is really not just to lose this weight, but to be able to be a healthy person who will stay active and enjoy the life that I have...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
