My name is Monique. My surgeon was Dr. Dean Mikami at OSU Hospital. Everyone in the bariatric department were very nice and made my stay easy. Even the housekeepers were pleasant. They also did 3 follow-up calls afer I came home. i highly recommend.

Dr. Oliver Varban at the University of Michigan Hospital. Great doc and great supporting staff. I had surgery on Monday, released Wednesday. He came by daily to check on how I felt and if I had any questions. At least one or more of his staff would stop by as well. This is in addition to the nurses that were already assigned. They seem to genuinely care about your health. Great team.

My surgeon is Dr. Sebastian Eid from Advanced Laprascopic Associates at Paramus, NJ. I stood 2 days at Jersey Medical Center at Jersey City, NJ. Several people I know had Dr. Eid or the other doctors in this medical group. My doctor had the grace of a GOD when he did my gastric sleeve. I 'am so happy with the outcome.

My surgeon was Dr. Anthony Pucci of Advanced laparoscopic Specialists in NY/NJ. I had the surgery at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey and was there for 2 nights. The Dr., the office staff, the hospital nurses and assistants were phenomenal! So caring and helpful through it all. So happy I chose him!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
