Who Was Your Gastric Sleeve Surgeon

Recommended Posts

My name is Kris and my surgeon was/is Dr Beth Schrope and the surgery was performed at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood NJ. Best, very concerned and attentative Surgeon in a facility that is sensetive to the patients. It's like checking into a hotel. Best care and consideration I'd ever had. I was there for 2 nights and just rested up for a few days then was off and running;. I actually gave her a hug today for saving my life. I'd do it all over again and will recommend her to anyone who needs suggestions. She's the best! I'm soooooo glad I found her!

I used the beautiful Dr. Maria Pompa Gonzalez at the LIMPA surgical centre in Tijuana. It is a bariatric centre of excellence. Truly an amazing medical experience. Beautiful facility, compassionate staff who spoke fluent English, and 11/10 care. I was very impressed!

I had my sleeve with Dr. Gonzales in San Antonio, Texas at Foundation Medical Center. A friend had it there and she loved it. I love Dr. Gonzales! I heard he was the best gastric surgeon in Texas but I dont know if thats true! However he is very good!

My surgeon was Troy Lamar (Love that name!) from California Bariatric and General Surgery in Arcadia. The hospital was Arcadia Methodist.

I highly recommend Dr. Lamar and his staff. Dr. Lamar basically loves surgery and he's wonderful at it. The aftercare and support is great too. I'm going to a support group set up by his office tonight. It's 3x a week!

I'm a Fort Worthian scheduled with Dr. David Kim on February 28th also at Forest park Medical Center. This was music to my ears!! He was recommended by a friend of a friend and then I started seeing his commercials and billboards which made me a bit nervous. After meeting him though, I feel the same about his bedside manner (so far). I'm looking forward to following your journey!

I'm having surgery on the 16th by Dr. Kim. Don't know if I've seen you in the meetings, but Congrats! and I'll figure out how to follow your story through you adventure.

I'm in the Phoenix, AZ area, and my surgeon was Dr Daniel Fang of the Bridges Weightloss Center. My surgery was performed at St Luke's Medical Center, one of the Centers of Excellence in Phoenix, AZ. I can't say enough positive about the team at Bridges, or Dr Fang and his staff. They were caring, responsive, professional, and timely with all services and information. I would recommend Dr Daniel Fang with total and complete confidence.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
