cbchebert 3 Posted November 17, 2010 Hi e1! I just came home from the hospital yesterday evening after being sleeved on Monday. I feel really good except for one thing. I have this horrible pain in my left shoulder and up the left side of my neck. I have been attributing it to the fact that my hospital bed and pillow sucked and I was very uncomfortable. But now I am not so sure. Could it be trapped gas that is causing this pain and what should I do about it? I am not as uncomfortable if I am sitting up but I can't sit up 24 hrs a day. As you can see it is 2:02 am here in Texas and I am up because I cannot get comfortable enough to sleep. Maybe I should try the recliner?
emilygrace 5 Posted November 17, 2010 Exactly like the gas pains I had - although I did also have a massive bruise on my shoulder from I don't know what when I was asleep in the OR! Walking and taking Gas-X helped the pains I had.

Kimz 1 Posted November 17, 2010 Hi! I was also sleeved on Monday. I have been experiencing the same symptoms as you. The pain to your shoulder is most likely caused from the gas compressing against your phrenic nerve. The only thing that helps is walking. I had this with both of my c-sections. As for the neck pain, I used a heating pad on my neck yesterday and I feel like a new woman! Best of luck to you. Kim
emilygrace 5 Posted November 17, 2010 Oh duh, I totally forgot about that - I had a wheat pack that went in the microwave and it was a LIFE SAVER with the gas!! Totally the best thing.

Kim Since you were sleeved the same day I was, I was curious as to how you are feeling. I am not nauseous or anything but on this third day, I am really, really sore. My lower back hurts too. I've been trying to walk but can't go far. What are your expeiences? I know I have been going to the potty alot (i guess all the Fluid beginning to drain). Please keep in touch.
