myrori 55 Posted November 17, 2010 I have never heard of surgery so late in the day. I am worried I will be so nervous sitting around waiting for it instead of rolling out of bed early to get to the hospital. My other concerns are that I since I wont be out of recovery till at least 7 that the night could be a rough one since my husband works the next day and I will be there by myself all night at the hospital. Any one else scheduled this late? Any ideas how to calmly pass the day. What were the hours following surgery like for you all of you?

I have had 3 surgeries in the last 2 years, a band placement, a band revision, and now the sleeve, and they were all late in the day like yours, waiting to go in sucks, but afterward your sooo drowzy and doped up and the nurses are in and out taking blood preasures and all that stuff you'll wish someone would leave you alone. dont worry, it;ll go by fast, and you'll be home. good luck on your surgery and weight loss......vicki
6kiddos 18 Posted November 17, 2010 Mine was at 3:30. I just kept busy with things I needed to get done. The worst part is that you cannot eat/drink anything after midnight the night before (I found out I could have early in the morning...but no one told me that!) I was dehydrated (had done a bowel prep the day before) so they tried several times for the IV. The anest. had to get it in my wrist and then put in another "better" one once I was out. Not fun! This happens to me all the time though. ugh. Good luck. Just keep busy. =)
ImdownwithVSG 0 Posted November 19, 2010 Mine was at 3:00. They told me I could eat/frink until 9:00 a.m. I had to get the the hospital by 1:00. That was my first surgery, but I think I would rather have it later. The morning gave me time to get some things done such as cleaning for when I came home and a few other errands that I got to do without feeling to rushed.
