Mommy4 0 Posted November 16, 2010 So im just wondering...I was sleeved in june and now I noticed that i can hold much much more food and at times I dont realize how much i just ate...so i guess my question would be... seeing as though they remove "the stretchy" part of the stomach and i end up stretching out my new pouch is it possible to get it to shrink back up?? i started a liqued diet this week again to try and do it but do you think im wasting my time??? LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted November 16, 2010 Mommy, the www.5daypouchtest.com website will help you with this. It's not a myth, it does work to help shrink up our tiny tummies. It also help curb the carb demon that seems to pop outta no where sometimes. Our sleeved stomachs won't stretch out a whole lot, but it certainly can stretch. If you feel it's stretched enough that you are concerned you're eating too much, I highly recommend doing this diet. Besides it's only 5 days right?

Tiffykins 673 Posted November 16, 2010 Since we don't have a pouch, our stomachs will only shrink so much on liquids but once you go back to eating solids, your stomach capacity will change again. I noticed a big change in the quantities I could eat at around 7-8 months out, but good news is that I can't eat more today than I could back then, 10 months ago. The swelling goes down, and our stomachs become acclimated to consuming solid foods, and we inevitably can eat more. BUT, the sleeve doesn't "stretch" like RNY or Band pouches. Like I said, I can't eat more today than I could 10 months ago even though it's twice as much as I could eat at 2-3 months post op. I had to go on full liquids right before my gallbladder surgery in February (8 months post sleeve), and I noticed once I started back on solids my restriction was a bit more limited, but about 2 weeks back on solids, I was back to eating 3-4oz of dense Protein per meal.
