Pregancy Test Before Surgery

Dawn

Recommended Posts

I was supposed to go to the lab on Friday and get my blood drawn for a pregnancy test and I totally forgot!!! I was dealing with my DH in the hosptial that day and work and kid and UGH! Surgery is tomorrow, I have to report at 530am and I hope they will just do the test then? Also, I'm on my freaking period and my husband has been fixed for years, I AM NOT PG!!! LOL I remember when I had my gallbladder out they did the PG test right before surgery so I hope they will here too! I can't put this off to a later time, too much going on right now :( I'm so mad at myself!

Life happens, don't be so hard on yourself. I had my pregnancy test the morning of my surgery, and I was having my period as well. They just pulled it when they pulled the rest of my blood that morning.

Congrats on getting your sleeve, and keep us posted ! ! ! Best wishes.

I hope everything went well and you did not have any delays waiting on test results. I am post menopausal 2 years now I am 54 and DH has been fixed almost 25 years now and they still made me take one! Boy won't a positive result for me would have been a shock(G)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
