I drank protien shakes, skim milk, broth, Vitamin Water, gaterade, but i guess it depends on your doctor. that is what i was allowed to have...oh and Jello and half juice and half water, the juice and protien shakes seem to help the most...good luck and god bless vicki

PS it does get better for me it was 1 week...

Hi <3

I also had the sleeve on Nov. 10th cool.gif -- I understand what you are going through. I tried my Protein shakes and a few other drinks and so far the only thing that I can "eat" well is Popsicles and skim milk. Im so ugh that I am just trying to keep myself hydrated. Im also trying to just walk a little more every day. But I get your feeling about the ugh and ZZZZzzzZZZ.... hopefully it will get better soon for us in loser land. --- lol.

just wanted you to know that you arent alonesad.gif

I was sleeved on the 9th. I have had the same issues.

Yesterday was MUCH better for me. I actually got about 30 oz down! woohoo! I have been making my shakes with just Water and then adding extra powder to them for more Protein. This helped up the Protein for me. I felt much better yesterday. =)

I also have been doing micro-sips to get the fluids down. I am constantly doing these sips and they add up. The only thing I take a little bigger sip of is the medicine..YUCK. I cannot microsip that thing! I just have to get it down, shiver with disgust, etc. LOL.

Good luck. It does get better! I just keep telling myself...two weeks and most people feel better. =)

Thanks you guys, its nice to know I`m not alone. Today seems like it will be a little better than yesterday. I had some Protein Shake this morning but got full fast and I had some broth this afternoon. I'm coming alone. Loosers bench get ready for US!

Had mine done on the 10th. I went home on Friday, felt ultra great yesterday and today I feel nauseous and my stomache hurts. I think I overdid it yesterday with being all energetic and feeling good.

I was sleeved on the 11th, it was uncomfortable for the first few days after surgery to drink anything, I'd feel this uncomfortable feeling in my throat and there would be this grumbling noise that was even audible to people a few feet away! It helped to start sucking on ice chips, I think we are so used to gulping down Water that it's hard to get used to those microsips we need to start taking. When you suck on ice you can't drink THAT much at a time, it forces you to pace yourself but it allows you to stay hydrated. If you want to keep things interesting you don't have to just freeze water, you can freeze diluted juice, broth, gatorade (try the g2 which has a lot less sugar) and have some sugar-free popsicles.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
