Argon's Excellent Adventure

Recommended Posts

Okay, we all know that Argon (aka Mandy) is packin' up and movin' East (commencing Sunday). Though she "says" it is to move to where her boyfriend is I actually think she is runnin' from the law. Word is that the Marshall is lookin' for her and she's wanted for some sort of mischief. I believe it. (ummmm, I think I saw her on Canada's Most Wanted!).

But...tis neither here nor there. Thing is, she's a movin' lock, stock and barrel all the way from the Prairies to the (gulp) Maritimes!!! EEEP!! *putting in a call to warn them now as I speak*...okay, as I "type"!).

Anyways, all this to say....Argon...I hope you keep track of your excellent adventure on your drive out and come back here when you are settled and let us know how your trip went, how life in NB is, how the job is, how the bf is, and of course, how the weight loss is going. MOST importantly we will want to know how far those tendon like things and your collarbones are stickin' out!

Try and eat well on your trip; it will be hard...but you can persevere! (hint: get some lunchables and put them in a cooler...the cracker/cheese/turkey ones).

Finally.....BE SAFE....and do NOT stop to pick up hitchhikers!!! Well...unless, of course, the are tall, well-built, and make you catch your breath in your throat (mmmmm Brad Pitt in "Thelma & Louise") (but then again, THAT goes without saying).

Be sure you come to the Canuck thread to say goodbye!!!!

:) :) :canada: :canada: :canada: :canada:

Aww... thanks Yoda!

I've actually already got some lunchables ready for the trip! Great minds think alike :)

I promise to only pick up good looking hitchhikers. I've also promised my mom that I wouldn't talk to ANY one, so if you run into rude, and apparently mute, overweight girl, in a blue PT cruiser, I apologize in advance. :biggrin1:

I'm hoping to get in with the one Maritime lapband surgeon (to do my fills), so hopefully there'll be some weightloss to report! And yes, I'll keep you updated on my neck tendons and collarbones. Maybe even pictures when I've got something to REALLY be proud of.

I am planning on taking lots of pictures on my "Excellent Adventure", so I'll have to show you guys. I'm actually meeting my first real live fellow lapbander, a gal in Manitoba... who's town I'm passing through. I'm also very excited, cause I'll be goining through some place (a town, I guess) in Quebec called "Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!" :omg: !! I NEED a picture of that town's welcome sign!

Anyways, thanks again for the well wishing!

Mandi

p.s. I got this damn lapband, hoping that with all the weight loss, that Marshall would never find me... little did I know it would take so long  So I must flee.

Now, don't mention the law again, if you know what's good for ya. :heh:

lol :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
