Need help finding jeans that fit

I am wearing a size 20 currently, but can't find jeans that actually fit decently. I guess I'm shaped wrong. I definitely don't have an hourglass shape like most plus size jeans are meant to fit. I have a huge waist, so when I find jeans that actually fit well in the waist, my butt and legs are swimming. I look just as sloppy as in my big ol' 26s from pre-op. I wish I could lose weight in my waist, but it's been slow going there. Does anyone know of any brand/cut of jeans that are a little more forgiving in the waist? Or maybe there's another kind of pants I can wear? I have usually worn Lane Bryant clothes, and they are just not fitting me right at all when I tried them on in the smaller sizes. I have also tried on some at Maurice's, with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm surprised you're having a problem with jeans since 90% of the ones I've tried seem to have way too much room in the waist. As far as jeans and pants go, I have had a lot of luck with the JCPenney brands. Worthington for pants and St. John's bay for jeans and cords. My stomach/abdomen has been a problem area for me since my pregnancy and Csection, but my waist is a little smaller in the back so pants tend to gap on me a slight bit in the back. That extra room in the waist may work well for you. But I still think these brands would fit a variety of body types.

I tried some of the custom type jeans from Lane Bryant years ago, with the different waist to hip ratios, but still struggled to find the right fit. But, there might be something there that works for you. I've also had a lot of luck lately with the George brand of dress pants at Walmart. These tend to work very well for me in the waist so they may not work as well for you if you need more room in the waist. But, at 16 bucks a pair for the dress pants, I'd say it's worth a try. I just went down to a smaller size but I'm going to take Lil Diva's suggestion and get a belt since the George pants have loops and I'll be able to wear my larger size a little longer.

Overall, JCPenney Worthington pants are my go to piece of clothing. Once I am in a stable size, I can get a pair of those in any style and guarantee that they will fit right on my body. They always look nice and I can get away without ironing the dressier material ones if I take them right out of the dryer and hang them up immediately. I highly recommend Worthington pants to anyone needing nice slacks for work and socializing.

When I was in that size, I found jeans, and I think the brand was Lee, that had a little bit of elastic in the sides of the jeans. I also wore jeans that had a totally elastic waist that were almost like leggings.

I definitely recommend something with some stretch in it. I've also been told when you buy jeans with a little stretch to buy them a little tight. Also, if you are in a size 20, I had a lot of luck with the Old Navy Diva jeans. Those are definitely cut for hourglass, and they have a lot of stretch.

Try Catherine's Right Fit jeans. They come in 3 different shapes for every size and I love them! You can get them online.

I happened to love jeans and I'm always trying to dress everyone around me in the right jean for their shape. My very close girlfriend sounds like she has your shape - wider in the middle and small in the hips and leg area. She tends to like straight leg or skinny leg jeans (she wears a size 16 or 18). I always tease her about her pants bagging in the but area. She found some Old Navy straight jeans that fit her well - just a tad tight in the waist, but fitted every where else. Another jean that I think works for everyone's body shap is Levi's. They have an inexpense brand that is carried in Walmart, Kmart, and Target called Levi Strauss and go for about $20 a pair. They are stretch jeans and come in straight or boot cut jeans. They tend to run a little big. I typically wear an 20W in jeans but can wear an 18W in their boot cut. My only complaint with them and most jeans for me is their not long enough. The regular women sizes come in a long but not the plus sizes. Ashley Stewarts jeans are good fits too, as well as inexpensive. I, unfortunately, can't wear too many of the Old Navy jeans, I have a belly, a hugh butt and really big legs - their jeans are usually too big in the waist, fit in the butt area and too tight in the thighs.

I would suggest you try on a couple of sizes and styles at store and go with the one that fits the best. Don't worry about the size, just go for the best fit and look. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
