AMOUNT OF FOOD I CAN EAT AT ANY GIVEN TIME VARIES.....ANYONE?

Recommended Posts

There are times that I know I am eating more than the 4oz's (5-6 oz)that my stomach is suppose to hold and then there are other times that I can only eat a couple of oz's. Eating more thatn the 4 oz doesn't happen often usually when I am having a "good day" (eating & drinking with out problems & feeling like a million bucks). I am concerned that my stomach could be stretching back out or is this normal. Does anyone else have this problem? Any comments are welcome. I no longer have to eat pureed foods, I can now eat solids that are chewed to a mush, so far I have been able to eat anything without getting sick or it not setting will with me. I am able to tell when I am full by a feeling that I get in my stomach and I have also noticed that my nose will run (weird).

Even at 17 months, I still have this issue. Some days I can eat more dense Protein than I could the day before and vice versa. There is no rhyme or reason to it, and I just take it as it comes. The only contributing factors that I've been able to pinpoint is that when I take longer to eat, chew my food extremely well, I can fit more food in. Other than that, I simply adjust my eating to how it feels from the first meal. I can usually tell with the first few bites how my sleeve is going "feel" that day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
