Nillawaferz 0 Posted November 5, 2010 Hi Everyone, I was wondering under what conditions would the VSG be necessary over a gastric band or bypass? I understand that a lot of you on this forum are previous banders who have had issues with your bands that made it necessary for a VSG. -nilla
feedyoureye 3,087 Posted November 6, 2010 If you have been ordered to take aspirin or NSIADs by a Dr. thats one thing. Thats what got my Dr to do a sleeve rather than an RNY (besides the fact that I wouldn't have an RNY done...) My cardiologist wants me to take an aspirin every day... and needed to write a release for me to get the surgery done with that info in it.
6kiddos 18 Posted November 6, 2010 I am with Feed....I would not have done an RNY. BUT I also have to take NSAIDS for my TMJ on a daily basis. (currently I am not taking them because I within a week of surgery and I can really tell the difference.)
