Dr. Salimath said that the sleeve would work good for me (yippee) and that with a BMI of 42...and a small handful (haha) of co morbidities...i shouldnt have a problem with my insurance being on board! woohoo...i know i have a long road ahead of me, but it is one that I have waited a long time for, and i am ready. i started my new 'no soda, sweets, and all water' lifestyle today. lol oh boy! so...now i am just waiting for my appt with the nutritionist, psychologist, and behavioral therapist. Gonna get my labs done this weekend, and knock out as much as i can as soon as i can. any suggestions on the long prep to this new life? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I know in the months prior to my surgery, I was on this board constantly. I googled VSG constantly and looked for ideas on pre-op and post-op foods. Your surgeon, nutritionist and the rest of the team will have lots of great advice for you. Don't be afraid to ask quetions - often the nut is going to give you guidelines based on their experiences with other patients. If it's not working for you, ask for alternatives.
