Secret Surgery 34 4 Posted November 3, 2010 I am 29 years old with a BMI of 34. I refuse to tell anyone other than my husband and mother about my decision to get the WLS. I don't want to be judged. I feel I judged myself enough ( ALWAYS IN THE NEGATIVE ) that I don't need to hear it from others. On the other hand this is a big deal and I need to share with someone. So I thank all of you for your posts and experience. It is appreciated.

Secret Surgery 34 4 Posted November 3, 2010 Thank you for the reassurance. I was wondering if there are many people my age out there doing this procedure.
texas_girl08 1 Posted November 3, 2010 I am 22 and I am scheduled for the surgery in February 2011. I have told my family and some of my closest friends but to tell you the truth I'm not ashamed or embarrased for having it I am just thinking of it as me bettering myself for my 2 year old daughter. I want to be able to take her to the park and play with her with out feeling like a big whale, or running out of breath evertime she wants me to chase her. I do understand that some things are personal and you have the right to tell who you want to tell I hope you have a successful and fullfilling journey. Thank you for the reassurance. I was wondering if there are many people my age out there doing this procedure. 1 AutumnLily reacted to this

emme2009 4 Posted November 3, 2010 Thank you for the reassurance. I was wondering if there are many people my age out there doing this procedure. I was 29 when I was sleeved...recently turned 30 and have kept my VSG private aside from immediate family.
MRSKOUBiK 27 Posted November 3, 2010 I'm 23, and will hopefully have the procedure done in December. I made the decision to be VERY open about my surgery. But, I think that's half because my mom had it done... and we work at the same place.... so it's not as such a big shock as if she didn't tell people
pumpkin07 32 Posted November 4, 2010 I was very open and told everyone at first. To be honest I kinda regret that enough to say it would have been more fun to not tell. People don't really want to know. I realized that after a while.
