  1. 1. Honestly, how often do you PB?

    • Very frequently. Sometimes as often as every meal.
    • Very frequently. Sometimes as often as once per day.
    • A Lot! 3-5 times per week.
    • At least weekly.
    • Monthly.
    • Less often than Monthly.
    • Only when it's that time of the month.
    • Never. I haven't PBed in a long time or never have.

Never! I've been banded for 18 months now, had 4 fills and I'm now with 7cc (on a 10cc band) and never had a PB or slime.

I do take good care in taking my time while eating, small bites and always chew, chew, and keep on chewing some more... :hungry:

You all inspire me, I've been PBing (productive burp) almost daily since my last fill a week and a half ago. I will be sticking with liquids from now until I can avoid PBin'. Oddly enough, mushies won't go down, but crisp things that can be chewed to liquid can.

I have been banded for over 14 months now and have pb'd 5 times, 3 of those times on chicken. That is one of those weird things for me, sometimes I can eat it, sometimes I cant.

i pb'd for the first time today on mushies. I've been banded a week. It was such a terrible feeling, i never want to go through this again.

p.b. stands for productive burp. It is when you spit up the food you just ate and it is mixed with saliva instead of the nasty stomach acid (because it never made it to your stomach) It feels like you have a golf ball stuck inside you. Basically, you need to slow down and chew you food real well.

Yup. PB stands for productive burp. It's the term that's been used since I first started researching banding in 1999... but no idea who came up with it. ;) Basically, if you eat too much, eat too quickly, eat pieces that are too big, eat foods that don't agree with your band.... you may PB. There are two types, in my experience... self-inflicted in order to remove that stuck feeling or to avoid the saliva from building up... and the oh crap, surprise PB... usually mixed with lots of saliva or stomach snot (trust me... when you see it, you'll know what I'm talking about). For a self-inflicted PB (at least for me), it's very easy... not like throwing up... basically, just lean over the toilet, cough or burp or whatever...and you regurgitate the extra. No effort. No stomach acid. No reflux. Not like vomiting, really.

OK that is much better than the words we were coming up with haha! I haven't got my first fill yet, so I guess I'm yet to experience this. YUCK!

Thanks that was really bugging me!

Hi,

I think I understand what you mean by PB. That's when something doesn't go through the stoma, right? So can anyone tell me what the acronym PB actually means, please?

Thanks,

Alberta

Just had another 1/2 cc put in my band before I went to Vegas for 9 days. I felt I needed the tight restrictions to keep me out of the food. It worked. Lost 4 pounds while I was there and wanted for nothing. But a few times I felt that I wanted to PB but fought it off each time.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
