I'm 15 days post-op and I've already stalled (I was sleeved on Oct. 13th). I lost about 13 pounds the first week post-op, and this second week I haven't lost an ounce. Not an ounce. I've heard of people stalling, but in Week 2? I'm about to blow my face off. I'd say I'm on about Day 8 of NO MOVEMENT ON THE scale.< /p>

Logically, I know my body's been traumatized and needs time to adjust. But emotionally, I'm starting to feel like I might be the one person on the planet who took this drastic step and isn't going to lose any weight (though I know this isn't possible). I've always been a fast loser, so this kind of thing is alien to me. Ugh. I'm frustrated.

Yep, put the scale away if you logically know you'll lose weight. All the stress over the scale will do nothing positive for you. Focus on your intake, exercise, and don't fret. You'll lose the weight, and you'll be successful, you just have to remember, we didn't get fat overnight and we're not going to get skinny overnight.

KristyKreem, Sleevesearch is right! I haven't been sleeved yet but I've read as many post on this website as I can and I've decided I am NOT getting on the scale everyday after I have my surgery. I told my Therapist this and she said OH YOU WILL WANT TO and I said NO I've let my weight control me most of my life. I refuse to let the SCALE take control. If you want to read some WONDERFUL SUCCESS stories to get you motivated there is a forum on your NSV= NON SCALE VICTORY!!! As for me I'm going to save ONE pair of my favorite capris and when I have a bad day I will try them on to SEE THE RESULTS!!! GOOD LUCK girl and HANG IN THERE!! It sounds like everyone goes through this and YES as soon as the second week!!! Just know it WILL come off!!! Your body is adjusting!

Well, cheer up! You aren't the only one on the planet who is experiencing this. There are at least two of us! I had my surgery the beginning of October and I too dropped 13 lbs the first week. I lost another 2 and then nothing! I've been fluctuating back and forth with the same lousy pound ever since. It is driving me crazy!

I lost about 40 lbs pre op so I didn't expect to lose as quickly as some do after surgery, but I didn't expect a stall this early on either! I don't want to go back to the doctor and not have lost more weight!

I know I need to get more fluids in and am working on that. I have not had any problems with any foods I have tried and am able to eat 600-700 calories daily. I write down everything I eat and my carbs/fats/protein are all good. Still, I am not losing weight.

I am losing inches. I have lost an inch all over and 2.5 inches in each thigh and in my hips, so something positive is going on. I can tell a difference in my clothing and am happy about that so I am trying not to get too frustrated. The scale will move eventually. (I hope!)

The plateau I am stuck at is a weight I maintained for a lengthy period of time years ago. Personally, I think the body remembers and is comfortable when it gets to a familiar place and wants to stay there. Hopefully it will move on soon. I should probably stay off the scale too, but I want to KNOW!

So chin up there - if misery loves company then we are definitely members of the same club!

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< BIG HUG >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It will go down ... Just give it time. I know it SUCKS to be in a stall. It feels like the world is crashing in. Trust us that have been there ... the weight will go down ... you will look back at this & wonder why you every doubted it. But, now it sucks ... there is no easy way to say it. Just take deep breaths and trust us.

Thanks, everybody. It really helps to hear what you all have to say. I'm going to put away my scale and relax because I know I'm tracking my intake and everything in that regard is on track. I'm also dealing with some post-op blues, so taking it easy and not putting so many demands on myself is another way I can break old, destructive habits. It's so great to be able to talk to all of you and learn from your experience.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
