Definitely mix it with foods. I added mine to yogurt*, oatmeal, SF Cocoa, applesauce, etc.

Be careful with temperatures though ... Protein doesn't do well when it's too hot. I warmed up my Water, mixed it cocoa and Protein Powder and then microwaved for a few more seconds to get it a little warmer. Otherwise, you will get nasty globs of Protein that you don't even want to try to drink. YUCK!!!!!

*If you can get hold of Kroger Carbmaster Yogurt it already has about 12 g of protein in it with only 4g carb. I added 1/2 scoop of unflavored Protein Powder & it was GREAT!

I typically used 1/2 scoop when adding to foods. Anymore than that, it changes the texture too much. But, I was one that HATED Protein powders - even "tasteless" ones. So, you may be able to use more.

Do you have Fred Meyers or Albertsons? I know they carry some Kroger brands. If not, you can always use the Greek Yogurts or regular fat-free yogurt works well too (just a little more on the carb count).

Don't worry about asking questions. Glad to help out a newbie. I know people sure helped me on here when I was asking millions of questions.

I use Stevia in my plain Greek yogurt and mix in blueberries and it's delicious.

As far as the unflavored Protein powder, I mixed it in sf gatoraide, sf poweradie, sf Hawaiian punch, and Crystal lite.

Mix in with sf pudding-one scoop for every cup of milk. Mix and dissolve Protein powder first, then pudding mix. It's great. I also sprinkle a 1/2 scoop on food and stir in. Mini is right about temoerature you don't want to go above 130 degrees or else yuck!

If you want to flavor it, Sweet Leaf makes a healthy Stevia sweetner that comes in all sorts of flavors. It's a liquid and very concentrated so you just add a few drops to whatever. It's good stuff!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
