When you DO break a stall......

Recommended Posts

So.....when you DO break a stall, do you find yourself asking "what did I do different?" and conclude....nothing? Boy, as a nurse, this really plays with your head. I'm used to having knowledge of WHY something happens. Last week 2 lbs. This morning 1/2 lb more. Well......praise God anyway! :)

I always go back through my foods and when it shows I've done the same thing as the past week.. I get a little nutty. lol. I can only imagine how you handle it.

Then I do a happy dance and post immediately my new weight to the bb. lol

There's no rhyme or reason to stalls..

Congratulations!! =)

LOL!! Gayle, I do the exact same thing!! when i realized my weight moved i go to change my ticker immediately! its so funny how that happens but i guess im not the only one that does that!! ... i have just experienced my first "3 week stall" and Im not beating myslef up over it because i know that the body naturally has stalls during weight loss as to adjust to the changes that we are going through! when its over its really amazing and you start to celebrate!!! :D

Chicas, this is why I only weigh 1X a month. I know it's not for everyone, but I tell you, I've never had a stall. (Well actually, I probably have them but since stalls hardly ever last a month, I wouldn't know.) Basically, I follow my plan and let my body do what it wants. If I follow my plan I know I will lose weight.

When I get to goal, I may weigh more often.

Hi, I don't do that after a stall but rather during. I have to work on stopping my obsessive weighing.

So I finally broke my 2 1/2 week stall as of this morning. I had actually gained 3 lbs from my low from a few weeks ago and couldn't figure out what I was doing. I looked at my food log from yesterday and realized I only ate 451 calories - yikes! Normally I get in around 800. Maybe it's just about changing "something" up a bit to get the pounds dropping again. I remember years ago when I was dieting, one place said that if you had a stall to eat nothing but either cantaloupe, bananas, or oranges (just pick one and eat only that) for three days. Worked every time. So maybe there is something to changing things up just a bit. And I actually had a few bites of ice cream last night too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
