Ibejjo 47 Posted October 25, 2010 How long after the surgery can you start to eating cold Cereal like Cheerios or Special K?
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted October 25, 2010 I actually had some cold Cheerios cereal a few days ago and I'm going to be 6 weeks out on Wednesday. It went down really good, but watch your portion size or you will liable to waste quite a bit of cereal and milk. I didn't even put a half cup cereal and 4 oz of milk and only ate about 5 bites and was full... LOL I had to waste most of it. I love my sleeve!!!

My nutritionist likened cereal eating to drinking and eating at the same time.
Jordien 30 Posted October 25, 2010 My nutritionist recommended cereal in the morning for FIBER! I started with 1/4 cup also and just now can eat 1/2 cup with 1/2 cup of milk, so that's like 1/2 a serving of what's listed on the box. It's a nice change from eggs and shakes, and I am def. someone who needs variety. (and fiber! lol!)
Jordien 30 Posted October 25, 2010 oh and also... she recommended Fiber one or another very high fiber cereal.

Anyway I'm with ya sister, I'll eat cereal whenever I want some as long as it's not called SugarShox... I didn't find that it made me hungry in the least, in fact it's pretty filling. Fiber in itself is a very filling food. That along with a High Protein diet keeps me incredibly satisfied on very tiny portions (with the help of my sleeve of course!) I don't plan on changing a darn thing. Thanks for reminding me about the Fiber One cereal! I do have the cereal bars, but I love the actual cereal too. Half the RDA in one serving, however since I can only eat a quarter serving at best -- though I'm still getting my fiber!!
