I also have a Vanguard band. I had 3cc put in on my first fill and felt a little restriction, But not for long. I have now had 8 fills and one very small unfill. I was told that you need to take it slow. I have heard some say they were put to 6cc right away. I'm glad my surgeon took things slow and steady. Don't over do it because being overfilled is HELL!!!!

Good luck with your fill!

I have the 10 cc band and my first fill was on June 6th. The dr. put in 4 cc's to start. I felt restriction for a couple of days, now I don't feel it at all.

My doc left 4 cc's in my band at surgery. I got my first fill at 7 weeks, which brought me to 6.2. I felt NOTHING, but as my doc has an open-door fill policy, I went back a week later. They took me to 7.6. Still nothing. So I went back a week later (depressed and thinking I might have a complication) and they filled me WHILE I was drinking Water. Now I'm at 10.0 and it's PERFECT. Probably still a tiny bit loose, but my hunger is under control, my quantities only slightly larger than the recommended portion, I have to eat slowly, liquids go down very easily, and I don't PB at all. The fill nurse said I had a petite stomach, which made me smile. At least something is petite!

I've known people who were at their sweet spot with 5 cc's all the way to 14 cc's. It's too mig of a swing to say where yours will be without a little trial and error. My advice is don't worry so much about specifically getting an "aggressive" fill, but be very diligent about going back until your fill level is right. There is only one good fill level -- the right one.

Good luck!

Hello All ,

Thanks for the information. Like I stated before I fly to the states next week to have a fill and do not want to have to come back in two weeks. I am hoping a goooooooood fill ...I think if it is tight I will not feel hungry like I do now. I can deal with liquids only for a couple of weeks if I have too...I want a good push to go forward. I have lost 18lbs after two weeks. Now I am 4 weeks out and have not been on the scale since the two weeks. I know I am losing weight by my clothes. Scale is not my measuring stick ,,,clothes are....

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
