Success Story... I think

Recommended Posts

I am 2 months out and have lost 57 lbs. I still think I am that bigger girl from before my surgery. My boss told me today to STOP wearing my old clothes because they were TOO BIG and to wear smaller ones. She knows I have a variety of sizes in my closet. She kinda yelled at me when she said it. :director: SOOO, when I got home I put several items in the goodwill basket and moved the smaller sizes to the front. I am going to take my boss' advice and wear the smaller clothes!!!! :thumb:

I would call this an interesting NSV. Someone has noticed your weightloss and wants you to show off your new body. Albeit yelling might have been a bit much.

Congratulations on the wonderful weightloss. Keep us posted.

I first wore clothes tight bc I was fat and they were to small. After surgery I wore them loose bc I was fighting trying not to buy clothes. Now I buy my clothes bc I have no sizes like this and I buy them tight. I use a belt often, tuck in shirts. It is kind of a 3 phase rhino. The funny part was when you need clothes you also often need shoes underwear, pajamas, etc bc it all gets too big. How fun, enjoy.

If I may ask, what exactly are you doing that you have had such fantastic loss? What are you eating, how much, what kind of exercising, etc. I am almost 15 weeks out and have only lost 47 lbs - and the first 20 were in the first 2 wks post op so don't really "count". 27 pounds in 3 months is really slow. =(

I eat really anything I want and have a taste for. The only exercising I do is walking and that is minimal. I don't do anything different than before, just smaller portions. I am a heavy weight so I contribute that as a factor.

Yeah, I'm a heavy weight too. Day of surgery weight, 294. Current weight, 245. Date of surgery, 14 July. What is your target calorie count/protein count/exercise? My surgeon and nut have me on 600 cals a day. My carbs are low, around 10 grams a day, and my Protein high, around 85 grams.

I have been as diligent as I can with keeping my clothing size consistent with the changes in my body. The droopy butt pants look is NOT cute or sexy.

It's costing me a bit more than I want to spend to keep up with my sizes, but all the money I'm saving on food is pretty much making things even. I have been buying my clothes from the outlet store and sometimes at Walmart. I found a new pair of jeans from Goodwill for $5 the other day. I just can't afford regular prices when my size keeps changing. I make sure I have at least 5 pair of pants in the right size and wear them until they get too baggy in the butt. The shirts are a little easier to work with. It's an interesting problem to have.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
