Hi I am new to this forum. I had the sleeve procedure in early September. Its been 5 weeks, I've lost 31 lbs. but have not lost any weight in the past two weeks. I've been working out daily, even started jogging recently. Something I havent been able to do for YEARS. Is it possible to plateau this early after the procedure?

Yeppers!! It's actually not a plateau, but a stall -- I stalled for weeks 4 and 5 (losing a grand total of 2 pounds), but like a lot of people who are ahead of us, they started losing right away again. I'm losing again this week. So, just keep plugging away -- you really can't not lose weight with the sleeve if you're doing everything right -- so eventually you will win over the fat :D Hope this helps!

I really like how EVERYONE goes through stalls and then starts weight again.. its such an upsetting experience at first. But when I see all these people who have lost 30, 40, 50lbs and keep losing.. it just gives me such motivation and comfort knowing that even through a stall.. (for 3 weeks!!) I will come out ahead.

I also LOVE all of the positive people here. Its so easy to get down on ourself.. but its so nice to come here and know that people will lift you up and are struggling with you.

Have a great day!

When you have a stall, your body is losing inches. Your body has to adjust to the weight loss. If you are not losing lbs, you are losing inches. I look at as a win both ways.

Wow! Thanks for the 411 lil rr...I was at a stall for a week, but my hubby swore I was still losing, we figured it was inches :)...I will take it :)

It's called the three-week stall, but it varies from person to person. I think I stalled from weeks 3-5, but I'm back to losing again. From what I hear you'll go through periods of time where you won't lose any weight, but it'll come back. Just stick with it, keep doing what you're supposed to be doing and the sleeve will take care of the rest!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
