Hope this offers encouragement through stalls.

Recommended Posts

I posted this as a response to someones concerns over a stall, but I thought it may be helpful to everyone.

First off let me preface this by saying we all need to really look at our eating/snacking/water intake etc when experiencing a stall.

That said my aunt (she has had no surgery) has been working out with a personal trainer for 3-4 months now and really works hard at her physical fitness just completed her monthly weigh-in where she was so bummed to learn when she stepped on the scale that she had only lost around 1.5 pounds, but when the body fat part of the weigh-in was done she had lost almost 5% of body fat. So though her pounds were low she had made some great progress.

So keep in mind a few weeks of losing body fat is a welcome exchange and will really change the way your clothes look and feel!

Chin up.

Thanks for sharing that. My weight loss was the lowest it's been (tho I am only a month out) this past week and that was kind of discouraging but people keep telling me I look smaller and smaller. I need to remember all these other little things and not go scale crazy!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
