EdithM 0 Posted October 17, 2010 Hello, I am new to this. I have been in out and out of this site for the past 5 months, but decided to join yesterday. Everyone seems very nice and very help and understanding. I got approved by my health insurance this past Wednesday for the surgery. So I am excited but very nervous. But on the same day I got my approval I found out I gained 5 pds. So, that means that I have to loose that weight plus atleast another 3 pounds, which I think I can do. This has been a learning experience and I am in this for the long haul. I spoke to my nutritionist and we went over everything I was eating. The culprit is those darn carbs. So now I have started a day to day diary to see what I am eating going forward. I also have to replace two of my meals with a Protein Drink. I found this website where I can actually change the drink around to make it more interesting - like adding fruits and fresh vegs to it. I also found a drink called Isopure zero cal. GNC sells them. I can drink a half one per day, because it has 40 grams of Protein in it. Also, I will be walking longer and learning how to eat my protein first and drink 30 before and after my meal. I like I said I am in this for the long haul and I want this to work for me. Edith
