Hey all my fellow Sac Girls,

I think the Point West support Group is this Saturday from 11:00-1:00. Can everyone do that? I think that would be a great place for all of us to meet, than maybe we can do coffee or something after that?

Sorry ladies, I will be unable to make the support group today. I have a bad cold and I don't want to give it to everyone. Especially those of you who are going to have surgery in the next couple of weeks! Hope to see you all next time unless we meet up before that.

Sorry I didn't see your post until now. You do not have to be a Kaiser member to go to the bariatric support group, it's for anyone. the next meeting will be November 25th at 11:00. Since it's so close to Thanksgiving they decided to make it a healthy (for bariatric surgery patients)[ potluck, so if you can bring something great, if not don't worry about it. I most likely will not bring anything as I will only be three weeks out from surgery. They also have a great clothing exchange, where members bring anything that they dont like or no longer fits and then everyone if free to go through the stuff (which is seperated by size) and take what they need.

Hi all---

I think there is a group at Point West Kaiser this Sat (10-30)

Point West is located by Cal-Expo off of Research Drive.

You do NOT have to be a Kaiser member to attend.

I will NOT be there though...I have prior engagements...:(

And on Sunday, I will be going to Richmond.

I want to meet you guys.....

Pam

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
