Got pissed at everyone enjoying breakfast!!

Recommended Posts

Saturday morning.....feeling kinda of "blue" already.....I went to Breakfast with a couple of friends. While I was trying to eat at least a half of my omelet (I have been very resricted after my last fill).....I started to watch everyone else eating their HUGE, YUMMY breakfasts. One women had a large omelet with all the cheese and ham you could imagine, hash browned, fruit, two pieces of thick toast with butter and pancakes...OMG, I wished for a minute that I could enjoy a breakfast like that. Then a man across from me was eating a huge beluigm waffle with blueberry filling and whipped cream on top. I wanted to eat like them...damn it!!!! I just don't know why I am feeling this way.

Then today my daughter wanted Chinese food...so I watched her eat this delicious plate of chinese food, with fried rice and an eggroll....took two bites of the brocoli and came home and went to bed with a golfball in my throat.

I am eating very little due to resriction, but I must be eating too much soft stuff as I gained 2 pounds this week....crap.....that makes me feel even worse.

Thanks for letting me vent.....

Awww.. You'll go through this again most likely. I've felt it, I'm sure others have as well. It's pancake envy. *grins*

Seriously though, it's tough to watch the world enjoying your old favorites while you have to go without. Just take a few steps back, take a deep breath and repeat after me...

I have lost almost 100 pounds! I need a slight unfill so I can eat healthily and continue to lose until I reach my goal. All of the pancakes, waffels, toast, and hashbrowns wont feel as good as weighing 189 pounds will feel. I'm on the right track, I'm doing a great job, I'm not deprived... I choose not to eat those things because I have a goal and by god, I'm going to reach it!

Atta girl, Margo! Its a tough climb, but we are all with ya. *hugs*

If you focus on how these folks look WHILE eating this crap, really look at them and try not to think of the food, they actually look gross, stuffing all that junk in their gullets. The noise too, focus on the gross smacking noises and then go back to your dainty small bites,chew-chewing,healthy plates and portion and feel good about the positive choice you have made for yourself!

(this sometimes works for me and sometimes i just leave the room if it's too hard!!:))

Mago look at these numbers......78 pounds gone...that is how many 10 pound sacks of potatoes......almost 8. Can you carry 8 bags of potatoes. To reach your goal you have about 8 bags of potatoes to put down.

How are you going to put the rest of the bags down...........

Tell me where can I go to read about all of your NSV's because you are over 40 inches smaller....?

Your bandiversary is coming up in a matter of about 2 months......can we make that a nice 95 pounds gone?

Does the craving and food envy ever go away? I look at your stats and think WOW you have been very successful. Why would you want to worship the very things that made us take such drastic steps to get rid of? Let's replace this food obsession with something else? I don't know what it can be, but food can't be the center of our lives.

Margo you have come so far. You are looking and feeling great. What would that waffle have done for you? Or that whipped cream?

Be proud and be strong.

Margo,I had to laugh a little for this happened to me on Sunday morn.

We had been to Galveston for the weekend and was headed home and stopped for Breakfast, not sure if I could eat a scrambled egg after having fill last week. But anyway there were five women sitting by us with plates loaded yes and waffles and pancakes also. I got about five small bites down and I thought dammit but after we left I was fine and so happy my fill was working for me.Hang :) in there you have done so good, I think we probably all have these feelings at times.

This was one of the first things my patient rep mentioned to me as a "down side" to banding. Eating Envy. Or, a P'nut said "pancake envy"! Yup, sometimes I still get good and pissed when I want to shovel and can't. But, Margo, are you a bit too tight? You mentioned the soft foods and the inability to eat more than just a few bites. That's not good. YOu should be able to eat real regular foods (healthy ones) in resonable quantities...reasonable for weight loss, not for stress eating!! LOL and if you can't, you need to consider if you need a small unfill.

Another thought...maybe it isn't soft foods that's making 2 pounds creep up? Maybe it's simply not enough food?

Hang in there, girl. You don't really need all that goopy junk anyway!

Your one of my favorite bansters Margo and when you hurt, it breaks my heart.

There's really nothing I can say except that food will always be on this planet but we only get one time around, so maybe at a later date in time you too can enjoy a little of those yummy things you spoke about. I know its hard, boy do I know.

:) and kisses

Hang on !!!

I am so excited I could pee my pants!!!!! I have not been able to mow the lawn in over two years.....well, TODAY I MOWED THE LAWN!!!!!!!!! It felt sooooo wonderful. I kept thinking about you guys while I was mowing thinking how excited I was to tell all of you....

Can't wait for the grass to grow so I can mow again!!!!!!

My daughter asked me to join her for lunch today at school.....I always have to stradle the picnic bench type seating at the school, because I could not fit otherwise. Well, today my butt fit!!!!!!!!!!!! I sat with the kids and sat "like" the kids!!! It was so cool, I can't begin to tell you...
Just had to share my great NSV this weekend with you guys.....went to a wedding this weekend. First of all, usually hate these types of social events since you need to "dress up", but not this time! Got a new outfit that not only looked great, but it was comfortable too....hubby told me I looked great several timesbiggrin1.gif . Then to top things off....I danced all night long and had a blast. I have not danced at a social event for years, but last night I "cut a rug", my friends. Felt confident, felt good and had fun....life is good!!!!

I have one more NSV to report today.....I can no longer wear my wedding rings and my anniverary rings....TOO BIG!!! I am afraid they will fall off so into the drawer they will go until I am ready to have them re-sized.

Stopped in at a Lane Bryant store today.....found a clearance item and when I went to the cash register the clerk asked me if I would be using my Lane Bryant credit card. I told her I had a card a long time ago, but have not used it in years. She politely asked me why....I told her that I just recently lost 60 pounds and can now fit in their clothes again!!! She said, "wow, I wish I could lose 60 pounds". When I left she congraduated me again.....great SNV today.....Now the next great SNV with Lane Bryant will be the day nothing fits again....BUT, this time 'cause everything is TOO BIG!!!

Ok here we go.....

I'm so sorry:(

I had the same sort of thing happen to me 2 weeks ago in FL when We went out to eat w/ my Mom and family. We went to a wing place and I knew that I was super tight and so I ordered Soup while everyone else ordered wings and fries and onionrings... Well the lady never delivered my soup..I asked still notta I finally broke down in hunger and ate 1 wing and spent 10 min sliming in the bathroom. I never did get my soup, the lady said Ill give it to you on the house, I was like give me what?! I never got any soup!!! meanwhile I watched everyone eat up 50 wings and I'm sitting there trying to keep my slime down :) At that point yea, I was mad,Sad,regretting, you name it I was so upset. I had Rita's the rest of the day :D(

You guys simply rock....I know that when it gets tough I can always count on you guys to set me straight and give me the confidence to keep on losing.

I feel better today especially since I went to my ob/gyn appointment and she was so thrilled with my weight loss....I was so thrilled I could lay down on that dang' exam table and was able to get back up myself!!!! Also had my mammo and she said that she could see so much more with my smaller boobs!!! Plus my whole boob fit on x-ray plate this time!!! Life is good....thanks again everyone....to hell with those pancakes!!!

....to hell with those pancakes!!!

*agrees wholeheartedly, while fighting the temptaion to chase after the pancakes

hehe!

Good to hear from you, Margo. I was beginning to worry that we'd be hearing reports on the 6 o'clock news that a woman in Wisconsin had walked into an I-Hop and opened fire on everyone eating pancakes! :pound:

You know, I hope to be banded in a few months. I can eat those big breakfasts (still do) and the chinese take-out. I eat that way, and that is why I weigh what I weigh. You are on the losing side and I think you are doing a wonderful job. After I indulge in the foods I love, I feel too full and upset with myself for eating the way I did. My clothes keep getting tighter and yours are bigger:clap2: (the clapping is for your losing not my gaining :) ) Just remember how well your doing, even with a 2 pound gain !!!

I know it will be hard for me also when I can't eat the things that I depend on. I've counted on food my entire life (emotionally) and things will change for me. But when I have a bad day or week or month, I will get on here and read all of the posts that you all make and then I will be able to be inspired and go on and loose weight just like you.

Take care,

Michele:p

Another thought to encourage (and I hope it does). It's true that I can't totally scarf food anymore, and sometimes it terribly frustrating. BUT! I do still really really enjoy my food, similar to the way I did pre-band. Enough that I feel satisfied and GOOD after having eaten, and eaten well, with that same sigh of relief feeling of pre-band. And with the satisfaction of knowing that without my band, I'd have eaten 3-4 times MORE than I just did. That makes it even MORE satisfying.

Two bites of anything is not enough food. Barring problems or temporary issues such as post-op or post-fill or post PB, most bandsters should be able to eat a normal meal. I think about a Lean Cuisine portion. THAT's a normal meal. If anyone is so tight (for no reason) that they can't eat a Lean Cuisine sized meal, they really need to think about whether or not a small unfill is in order. Ask if you are wondering...every situation is different, but bandsters should be able to eat.

Hey, Teresita, that was a WONDERFUL post! Good job!

Glad you are feeling better, Margo. To Hell with those pancakes!!!!!!

Margo -

I reading your post and was thinking "those omlete/waffle eating bast**ds" - can you tell I am doing my pre-op liquid diet. Actually, my mouth was watering reading your descriptions....hehe. I haven't started band life yet, but am finding the frustration of not being able to eat - and smelling the spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread cooking in the kitchen for the family tonight. My husband not completely understanding the concept of "liquid diet".

You are a great inspiration to "us non-banded" and I can only hope my band experience is as successful as yours. Keep up the awesome work my fellow cheese head.

Tracy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
