wannalise 16 Posted October 10, 2010 My dear, this will all soon be very worthwhile to you. I had people in my life who loved me and who I felt like were being unsupportive, but I have since realized that for most of them it was some type of fear. Fear of my having surgical complications, fear that I won't succeed, fear that my weight loss will alter my relationships with them....this is yours. People quickly become more supportive when they see you physically, spiritually, and emotionally become the version of you that you want to be. Keep posting here, you will always have plenty of support and info! Anna

I was sleeved on the 27th and while my mother knew and was on board, we didn't tell my father until the morning of the surgery. As in, when I was in the hospital going through the admittance process. Not the best idea and he didn't speak to me the rest of the time I was at their house recovering. However, we've made peace and I think he's realizing that 1) my body, my choice and 2) in the end, it will all be worth it. Keep your head up and don't stress. Just take this time to relax and prepare. Good luck to you tomorrow!
clk 3,519 Posted October 11, 2010 Just wanted to say good luck on the big day! Anna is spot on - any people that are negative right now are worried and will likely come around when they see the changes in you. You'll be a happier, healthier person inside and out in a few months, and they won't be able to help responding to that. Wishing you a swift, smooth recovery! ~Cheri
