Feeling well enough post op to type here....

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if anyone has ever asked this or not but do you know how long it takes to feel well enough to jump on the computer and come here? I just wonder if anyone has never made it back on and what happens if we never hear of a person again..... I know it's a really crappy/downer thought but is there a way of tracking our friends from here to make sure they are okay if we aren't on a phone call basis with them?? A time line for when to worry of sorts?? Anyone else wonder this?

Well, I personally made outside friendships with some people enough to where I felt comfortable enough to send an email or text message to let them know I was ok. I then asked them to relay the message to here or where ever I post -- I didn't want anyone to worry.

Now when they didn't hear from me after the first day I was getting texts and emails asking where I was. If there were truly an issue, my family would have seen my phone and responded I'm sure.

Just a thought... but don't worry. You will be fine!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
