ThomSB 0 Posted May 16, 2014 Related to the question about whether or not to tell people about my surgery...my thought is this: extreme weight loss in an out gay man can lead to some seriously inaccurate assumptions. Nope. Not cancer. Nope. Not AIDS. "I had a sleeve gastrectomy." Haven't been ready to post on FB yet. Really don't want to have to reply to all the How-are-you-doing...need-anything lovely comments and concerns. Cuz while they try...well...One friend who knew I was having surgery Monday offered to bring me dinner this week. Sweet. But no. But I think the next week or two... SportCub 28 Posted May 16, 2014 I only told my partner and one other friend who is also considering surgery. Unfortunately I think there is still a lot of stigma attached to WLS. So I chose to keep it to myself. 1 ThomSB reacted to this

missannw 4 Posted May 17, 2014 Hi! Now for a huge giggle! I came to the site forgetting that I had a login (had to make up a new one since I couldn't remember my password!) and then found this forum again only to discover this thread that I started in 2010!!! Rock on! So, yeah. Finally had my surgery 1/10/11! HW 266, SW 260, CW 149. Have maintained 149 w 1-2 lb regain every so often. I am truly the "if I can do it . . . " maxim! Nice to be back!!! Karunch 10 Posted September 1, 2014 Hello everyone, my name is David and I'm from the suburbs of Philly. I had Realize Band surgery 4 years ago and I have lost 90+ lbs, but I am going to revise to the VSG at the end of this year/beginning of 2015 (assuming that my insurance company approves the revision). Just figured I'd say hello.
