YAY YAY that's great news ! ! !

Because of the location of my abscesses, I was hospitalized for a week, had 2 drains placed, and was on IV antibiotics for 7 days then came home with drains for a couple of weeks, and then a couple more weeks of oral antibiotics.

Thanks Tiffy, It's really a relief. The CT scan Doctor was a student of my father in Medical school (My Father still works with RX with almost 80 years old, but he does not have the CT machine). So he was very careful and told me he looked very hard but there is nothing there.

Still about the abcess recover. Was you alowed to eat?

Yes I was allowed to eat. I was about 7 weeks post op, and the abscesses were not attached to my stomach. 2 were floating in my abdominal cavity, and one was in my pelvic cavity. They think microscopic bacteria was left behind from the leak repair even with a couple hours of abdominal flushing bacteria can be left behind.

At least it's much easier recover than a leak. I think that sometimes because we are so weak with the weight lost that desease attack.

I'm felling much better today! But still does not know what was the cause of the fever. They are guessing a sinus fever (since I have an history with it). Did not had to take any tylenol for fever until now (8:00 PM).

I think all info posted here is of great value for others. I will post here a folow up after I'm out of the antibiotical stuff.

Just to let everybody knows that I'm fully recovered from my illness. It looks like it was really a virus. A week after my last post above it went down to my balls! What a pain!

But now I'm in track again only experiencing my first stall.

So thanks everybody that supported me throut this little crises.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
