September Sleevers YAY The party is ON

Recommended Posts

Ok.. I'm on Stage III foods. I am finding that I can barely eat. The most is about a 1/4 cup of food. I am not getting enough liquid either.

Any hints out there for getting the liquid in???

I guess my capacity for food will increase. It amazes me how little I eat now.

I use Protein powders and always put more Water or liquid in that it requires. Since everything is still so sweet to me, it tastes okay that way. I put crystal light in 32 ounces of water instead of 16 and make all kinds of herbal teas, hot and cold. I found some low cal spiced cider and swiss miss hot choc that has only 25 calories and it add it to warm skim milk. I used to be able to drink lots of plain water but can't seem to take it after four or five cups and have to have a change of pace. I found crystal light clones in wally world that had orange juice and apple juice flavors. I really like those since I haven't had juice since I was diagnosed with diabetes seven years ago. Yum!

Sometimes I have to visualize all that water flushing fat out and it starts to taste a little better. Not much but enough to get another cup or two downbiggrin.gif

I had my sleeve on Sept 24, 2010 and as of today Feb 10th, I'm doing pretty good. So far I've lost 74 or 75 pounds. It was the best thing I ever did. I'm feeling lots better.

Welcome SweetGal - you should join our weigh in thread (search for Sizzling) -- most weigh in on Mondays, but you can weigh in any day of the week (I weigh in on Weds.) -- it's a great thread for encouragement, etc.

Glad you could join us! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
