Had a scrambled egg!!!!

Recommended Posts

Am I a lunatic?? I just had the most amazing scrambled egg and feel GOOD after eating it!!! And I couldn't wait to come here and post about it! :lol0:

After some nausea the past few days after eating anything other than a clear liquid, I am feeling SO happy about being able to feel good after eating. I guess I really needed to hit the 2-week mark before moving on to purees. My doc let me go off Clear liquids a few days early, but I clearly (ha) wasn't ready. Taking it slow and excited to try new things now. BUT definitely yogurt and eggs.. those are my two starter foods. When moving off Clear Liquids, start with those two.

Yum! best scrambled egg I ever had in my life. HAHA!

Definitely not dropping off the pounds like I was. I figured adding food back would probably slow down that dramatic weight loss. I'm okay with it though. I know it's healthier to lose more slowly. Got on the scale today and was down another pound and thought maybe I'd wait until Wed. to get back on the scale. Trying hard not to get on it every day!!

I know its hard not to get on everyday!!! I told myself not to be a scale whore but I still am. Can't stop myself. I have been putting Protein in my meals and then unable to eat them all so I think I was not getting enough protein so I have to decided to have a shake for Breakfast and then have lunch and dinner with no protein added in it so it will taste better but I will also drink an Isopure so I get 60 gm of protein in. It's so hard with such limited food options!!!!

Yogurt and scrambled eggs were my favorite "mushies". Add some salsa to the egg... I still have one for breakfast once in a while. You're definitely not a lunatic!

Well, you inspired me to try a scrambled egg and it was NOT pretty. I only ate about 1/3 of the egg and I ate it very slowly. At first I thought all was well, but about a 1/2 hour later I started puking it up and continued on and off for about an hour. Won't be trying that again for a while

oh no!!! I'm sorry!!!!

I was so nausea and even threw up, but the egg was SO good for me and cooperated with me. Weird how our stomachs are all so different. I couldn't handle mashed potatoes either. :(

Feel better!!!

eggs are one of those hit or miss foods for all of us. I was actually scared to try them because I've heard so many complaining about them during this stage. I suggest to anyone to take it very slow with the egg for the first time trying it.

Well today was my very first time, and I took some of my bouillons (I had a lot left over from the the clear broth phase... chicken & veggie) and made a Soup base with it. Then I scrambled up an egg and made an egg Soup. It WAS FANTASTIC!!!! I actually ate the whole egg!! I felt great after. Now I know what's for dinner every night until I can start eating more soft solids. It's so good for me, packed with protein! Yum!!!

Jordien, since you tried it and were okay, I decided to try it but added some Laughing Cow cheese. Lord, do I miss cheese, especially melted cheese. Took me half an hour to get it down and I am jonesing for some juice to wash it down but I ate it all and it was GOOD! It has taken a lot of the fear away of moving to the next stage for me. It was certainly much easier to get down than the greek yogurt I added waaaay too much Protein Powder to.

Interesting trip - never thought I would be afraid to eat! ;)

I know!? It's so strange! I'm glad you both had success! That's how I felt with the egg.. I was SO excited to actually eat something, felt normal, felt good afterwards... had a good source of Protein. I am ready to go on to a few different things, but I'm afraid of every new thing I try! LOL! I'm going to try some cheese with my egg tomorrow!! I miss cheese too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
