What am I doing wrong??

Recommended Posts

Wednesday was my 3 week post op, I haven't lost any weight in the past 2 weeks!!:biggrin0: This is really freaking me out, I am on the soft food stage, meaning that if I can chew it to death I can eat it ( meatloaf, deli chicken etc.) I'm not eating alot but I find that I want to snack at night, this is usually when I have SF pudding, or a string cheese. Any ideas on what I can do, or what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help:frown1:

It just sounds like you are going through the typical 3rd week stall. There is no way you are eating more calories or even equal to what you are expending. It will have no choice but to start picking up again.

Are you doing any walking at all? That helps me up my metabolism and as long as I'm doing that, even 30 Minutes a day, I'm losing.

Also, how are your clothes fitting? Go try on some clothes in your closet that you haven't tried on in awhile and see how they fit! That is such a huge motivator for me and keeps me on the positive side. If you don't have any, go window shopping and see what size your fitting there.

All the best!

totally normal! it happened to me and I had my surgery 1 year ago--ive since lost +140lbs and am still losing. The key is when you start getting better to exercise. But, for now...dont sweat it just follow the plan. you'll don fine.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
