Thank you SO much for your responses everyone. I havent been able to check them as often as I'd like but you guys and gals are amazing. Im so gratefu for you all.

So...since that post Ive lost 12 lbs. I am 10lbs away from getting a surgery date.

I have my psyc eval on the 17th!

Im getting closer and closer everyday, and it feels great.

I did the gym dedicated for about 2 weeks straight and hvae kind of started slacking again but mostly do to crzy work schedule. Im more "in the zone" when im at the gym than i used to be. Im on a low carb diet and it seems to be working. Again, thank you ALL SO MUCH.

I have another question....what exactly are they looking for in the pysc eval? What can make them decide you're not ready??

Thanks everyone!!!

They just want to make sure you are doing for the right reasons and that you understand that it will be a lifestyle change. It is pretty easy. Don't worry the psych eval. Good luck on the last 10 lbs. You can do it.

Hi there, fellow Pcos sister here. As you know that makes us insulin resistant. I have taken off 40 pounds by eliminating sugars of all types and eating Turkey chef salads A LOT. The trick is to keep your Blood sugar level. I have replaced Breakfast with a high quality Protein Drink and some days I also skip dinner and have a Protein drink. No breads and lost of high protein. Out for dinner? chicken and veggies only. lunch? tuna fish, plain. Find something you like without the carbs and your blood sugar will stabilize and then the pounds come off. Best of luck to you, I know the battle is touch and temptations lurk everywhere.

I am so happy that you have gotten more then half way through the needed weight loss! Keep up the low carb dieting and if you get bored at the gym try to go to a local track and walk the stadium stairs..those kick some major butt in a short amount of time. I am trying to get my outside exercise as much as possible before it gets to wet and cold to do so. Thanks to crazy California weather it has been in the 80's this week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
