Well, Friday I go get my diet from my doctor's office to start on Monday my two weeks liquid diet. Then Tuesday I have an EGD and Wednesday preop testing. Busy week next week, but one week closer to 10/18/10. I can't wait until I can finally sit on the loser's bench. I am so excited and nervous all at the same time.

One problem I am having is my allergies are acting up and I have a cough and sore throat. I love this time of year, but my nose doesn't, so if you would, say a prayer that this doesn't get any worse and I don't have to postpone my surgery.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and even better weekend.

Lisa

Thanks for the encouragement. I picked up my diet and it doesn't look too bad. It is NutriMed has anyone heard of that? I got to pick out the flavors I wanted. I know that there are not going to be the best tasting, but I can make it through this next two weeks. I least it is not just a liquid diet. There are Entrees, Cereal, Cookies, shakes and puddings. I can have SF Jello and popcicles, SF drinks of any kind. With the cereal I can have a 1/2 cup of skim milk. So I think this is doable. I can't believe that it is getting so close.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
