The PVL whey Gourmet that you get at Netrition.com is very good. I just think it's on the expensive side.

I just tried Jay Robb this weekend. I bought the Pina Colada and have not tried that yet. The Orange tasted pretty close to the Chike orange. It tasted good, but I like mine thicker.

I dont want to have to rely on ordering my Protein stuff online as shipping gets expensive and I have to REMEMBER to keep ordering stuff when it gets low. From this thread I'm gathering that I can go to my local GNC and get Wheybolic Extreme which tastes pretty good (I know, I know, I need to taste it myself). I have two daughters who would also like to go on a liquid diet to help support me (and to look good for an upcoming dance they're going too lol) and I really cant afford to buy hiqh quality Protein stuff for all of us, so they've agreed to do slim fast.

If any of you have any other Vitamin Shoppe or GNC suggestions, please share. I'm supposed to start my pre-op diet on Tuesday and I would rather go local than to order a whole bunch of expensive crap online.

I would also like someone to help me if they could. I am drinking Bariatric Advantage chocolate flavor and I like it. I like my Protein Drinks pretty thick. I make it in a shaker cup (the one with the little whisk ball inside) with Water and a couple ice cubes. I'm getting sick of just chocolate though and I don't like the Bariatric Advantage brand in other flavors. I'm okay buying stuff online or at the stores. If you have any personal recomendations for me that would be awesome. Thanks !

the BSN lean dessert banana Cream pudding is good. Orange Chike is really good too. You can get all the BSN flavors at vitacost.com. Free shipping if you order over $49.

If you like your shakes thick like I do, I add a couple tablespoons of

sf instant pudding to my shakes when I want them thicker.

Vitamin Shoppe sells Jay Robb. His is a small container for around $30 so I think it's expensive. BSN is like 14.99

The good deal at Vitamin Shoppe is Pro Pudding by body Tech. It's 145 calories 4 carbs and 25 grams of Protein. only choc and vanilla but it's good pudding!

Thank You! I'm getting so sick of my Bariatric Advantage shakes that I can hardly tolerate them anymore and I know I'm gunna be doing shakes after my surgery too so I like to have a lot of options. The pudding idea is great I am going to try that today. Thank you.

would you say those are thicker type shakes or thin like milk/water. Also how big are they. With Bariatric Advantage chocolate I can get a nice thick shake with 8oz and only 160 calories. With some GNC one I just bought I only get 4oz and its super thin so I don't get full. Plus way more calories. If Protein shakes are all I'm eating I want to feel full for a little while. Thanks.

I love musle milk strawberry & chocolate unjury.

Muscle Milk is thin. I think that the BSN Lean Dessert choc fudge pudding is about the thickest. I like mine thick too, but a lot of people really want them thin after surgery.

I have never tried unjury, but you could get samples before buying much of any type of Protein .

If you get the pro pudding by body tech at the Vitamin shoppe, and use something like a magic bullet, it gets thick fast . It only comes in choc and vanilla though.

I use a couple table spoons of sf pudding to thicken my shakes.

I started the liquid diet 3 and a half weeks before surgery and loved all the Unjury Product samples given to me by my surgeons coordinator. I even order two containers and then tried some stuff from SAMS ugh can you say vommit the stuff from Sams tasted horrible compared to ther UJURY Protein supllements. So thats what I am sticking with for my journey and they use pure ingredients not china cheap ingredients. Quality you can taste and qulaity you can feel when you drink it. Mixes well with Water, skim milk or soy milk. Try some I feel 100% you will agree with the results.

I like Premier Protein - the premixed chocolate is all I have tried. They are low carb and to me are edible. I also like muscle milk light premixed.

I tried designer whey (mix from powder) and thought it was bad.

The theme for me is that i seem to like (the more expensive) premixed ones best.

I'm looking for some variety outside of shakes. Can anyone recommend a light Protein Powerade type drink and some protein Soups? I ordered the Unjury chicken Soup, I hope it's good.

The Unjury chicken Soup is not bad at all and I don't even like chicken soup. It is full of flavor and the warmth will make you happy. Isopure has a bottled Protein that has the consistency of juice. The red one was my favorite (Alpine Punch I think). The blue was horrible. They are expensive, but to me worth it because of the difference in consistency and taste. After a while they became too "tart" and would dry my throat a little so I would dilute 4 ounces of it with another liquid like Smart Water, Powerade Zero etc and get fluids AND protein that way.

Isopure and the Syntrex nectar products are more of a thin, fruit or tea. You should go to the food forum and look for the place to get samples. The sample pack of the Nectar products are good. Roadside Lemonade, I think there's a peach tea, Twisted cherry, etc.

You can buy isopure at GNC or places like that.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
