Magic Bullet

Recommended Posts

I've heard of them, but aren't they just another small blender? I own a Bosch Kitchen Machine, which has a gazillion attachments, including a great blender. Do I need to get a Magic Bullet too? Why?

I use mine every day for mixing my Protein Shake. But if you already have an appliance that will mix for you, don't bother...except that it's easy to use, easy to clean, and is perfect for a single serving size. I also used it for chopping nuts and the kids use it for milkshakes and smoothies.< /p>

Actually, I bought one yesterday at costco. (I figure I need to do SOMETHING to get ready for this trip I'm about to take. The wait is making me nuts!! :biggrin0:) I haven't opened it yet, and if I don't need it, I'll return it.

But the packaging does make it look very convenient. My Bosch has a lot of attachments, but seems like it'd be harder to clean. We'll see.

Well Dave, look at it this way. You can take it to work, traveling, inlaws house, wherever! It's very portable and small and easy to pack up and go... take your Protein Powder, a thing of milk, and you at least have Protein Shakes to fall back on if you're stuck. Have fun using it!

I love my Magic Bullet. When I was on liquids I used both my blender (when I wanted to use lots of ice) and the MB. But now that I'm on pureed foods I don't see how I could live without it! (I promise, I am not a paid spokesperson.) ;) The small cup that comes with it is perfect for this. And best of all, clean up is waaaay easier and quicker than using a blender or a hand/wand blender. Oh, and you have less dishes to wash because you can eat out of the cup, too. Bonus!

I received the MB as a gift about 2 years ago, used it once or twice and put it away. I pulled it out before surgery during the pre-op liquid diet to mix the Protein shakes.....I love it, I can mix and drink from the same jar, and clean up is so easy. At the low price, even if you just use it during the soft/mushie stage it's worth it.

I think I'm going to go invest in one. The big bulky puree machine I have seems like a bit much right now, with cleaning especially. I'm even getting tired of cleaning my blender all the time. I'm going to need it a lot and I really don't want to have to clean the blender or puree'r 4-5 times per day! :biggrin0:

I think I'm going to get one. I'm tired of constantly cleaning my blender jar. Is it any quieter than a regular blender?

get it girls. it's cheap enough that even if you don't like it... not a huge waste of purchase. it IS loud, like a blender or something, but it whips up your shake in 10 seconds. If you add ice, you'll hear the ice being chopped up, and that will be loud. no biggie though, don't worry. my biggest complaint is I have a hard time unscrewing it after mixing! anyone have a tip? I screw it on nice and tight so it doesn't leak, but then when it's done, I can't get it off! lol! I have one of those rubber gripper things to help open jars, and I usually have to use that. i'm making my first chocolate Protein Shake this morning for Breakfast in my mb!

I just got mine and I've used it 4 times since this morning, lol. Clean up is a snap. Another plus is the steamer lids so you can cook your food in the microwave and then put reg lid on to save the leftovers in the fridge.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
