It finally seems real

Recommended Posts

Well, today I paid my downpayment to be banded and then paid for the airline tickets and even got our itinerary for leaving Nashville International Airport on July the 9th, and got all of my paperwork faxed. Now, it seems real. I've had more energy and excitement than I've experience in years today. I feel HAPPY! I sure hope everything goes all right.

Just wanted to share my good news with my good friends!

Good luck to you. Let us all know how you are doing when you get back. How long will you be gone?

Good luck on your journey. I remember every step before surgery. Downpayment, insurance approval, phsycho eval, nutritionist, etc. etc. I was banded on Tuesday and I feel really good. Keep the faith, it will be worth it.

We leave Nashville Tn. International at 8:30 AM on Sunday July 9th and arrive in Houston then on to Monterrey at 2:09 PM. Go in the next morning on Monday and surgery around 8:00 am and stay there that night and then I'm guessing go to the guest house the next morning and stay there that night and our plane leaves at 9:00 am in Monterrey then to Houston and return to Nashville at 2:00.

I know I'll be nervous then but I'm not now. I quit telling family members because everyone was raining on my parade I just have you guys and I'm so proud everyone's concerned about me because you all will be the only ones. Thank you in advance. Can I take my laptop and let you know how I'm doing after surgery or not?

What is your opinion on preop, they said I don't need one but I'm afraid my liver needs some attention because I take a lot of medicines for Pain since my surgery and wreck.

What do you think?

Love you guys,

Sherri

You know what I just realized, that's now less than a month away. yehaa:clap2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
