Take ball room dance classes!

Haha, I took a lot of dancing classes. And being fat, I sweat and all the ladies AVOID ME LIKE I HAVE A DISEASE. They'll go around the room and say "Ladies, pick your men!" and I'll be standing there by myself. I try to make eye contact with them and smile, and they look away really fast.

I stopped going after a few weeks, obviously. :thumbup1:

To add:

Being able to cross my legs the "girly" way

Lasting all day in high heels

Not dying of foot pain every time I jump in ballet class

Actually LOOKING like I work out instead of just working out like a maniac and remaining fat

I have a few more.

Being able to put my shirts in the dryer without having to put my knees in to get them to fit.

A pair of shoes will last me more than 30 days.

Be able to get out of chair without rocking back and fourth 10 times to gain momentum.

So I can finally use that Pedi-egg on the bottom of my feet and not just the sides.

So I can adjust the seat in my car while I am in it and not before I get in.

This sort of thread seems to pop up every few weeks, I love them and will put my 2 cents in every time!

1. To return to my hometown after a self-imposed exile because I didn't want anyone I had known to see what I had done to myself.

2. To participate in the experience of American womanhood.

3. To dance again.

4. To have breasts that no longer have their own time zone

5. To have my face again, my actual face, not the swollen copy of my face.

6. To no longer be afraid of chairs in public.

7. To stop experiencing the humiliation of air travel.

8. To (ironically) eat whatever I want and not be judged by every single human who sees me ingesting.

9. To wear beautiful/trendy/chic/quality clothes. To participate in fashion trends - the last trend I participated in was ... okay maybe I've never been trendy.

10. To feel "in" my body again, like this body is mine and not some punishment.

** Bonus: To wear high heels again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
