juliek 0 Posted June 9, 2006 Good question, I was just thinking about having one done. I would have "gastric band" put on it, I think. I was asking my regular dr about this and she thought it was a good idea because if you are ever in an emergency situation, it would be helpful for any dr to know you had it done. What does everyone else think?
coyotegirl 3 Posted June 9, 2006 I have one and it reads.. GASTRIC LAP-BAND IF TUBING REQUIRED MUST USE SCOPE MORE INFO IN WALLET I put " more info in wallet" because EMT'S don't usually look in your wallet unless told to. In my wallet I have more info on my band, Dr.'s #, allergies and so on. The "must use scope" is really for stomach tubes not breathing tubes but I would think EMT's would know this. (I would hope)

nursekathy2u 0 Posted June 12, 2006 mine has my allergies on it too.. it says Lap Band patient, caution with NG tube or EGD NSAIDS, ASA and Toradol cause anaphylaxis. once I got it I realized I had not listed my Latex allergy so I will have to get it redone. I only got the tag for $15.00 and made the Bracelet part myself.. I have several to go with different outfits. I recommed the bracelet over the necklace because one of the first things they do in ER or Ambulance is start an IV and they would be sure to see a bracelet. piercedqt78 658 Posted June 12, 2006 I was warned by a paramedic friend that bracelets that look too much like jewlery is usually overlooked. Make sure it has a noticable medical (cadus?) symbol on it. Mine says Adjust. Gastric band with abdominal port No NG w/o scope Mushroom allergy ~Mandy
