Soft food should be the consistency of a thick liquid ( no chunks or solid material ) and it should be chewed very well before swallowing until it is a liquid consistency )

Tofu

Low fat cottage cheese

Cereal

oatmeal

Precooked pureed rice

Low fat Yogurt

Yogurt mixed with fruit very well blended

Cream Soups

eggs

Boiled pureed fruit ( example pear, apple )

Watermelon, papaya or melon in small pieces

Boiled pureed vegetables

Beans

In addition to those items, I could have blended chicken, tuna, egg salads. Also, blended chili with Beans, refried breans (pinto beans, black beans) all slow cooked in the crock pot.

I made this recipe last night, the eggs stayed nice and soft and it was really delicious. I took the leftovers to work with me and we all had it today...it was a hit with the girls in the office. Cheesy Egg Bake

I picked up an Xpress Redi Set Go cooker at Target and cut the recipe in half. It made 4 half-cup servings, 16g Protein each. a half-cup might be a bit much at just two weeks out (it was almost too much for me at 1 month out) but it was light and fluffy. So it is a really good source of Protein. To add to Tiffy's list, I also eat ricotta cheese, 100calorie Nesquick chocolate milk (8g protein, I find it at the convenience store), and my doc approved low-fat string cheese (chewed well).

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
