It only takes 1 time...and a little stall

Recommended Posts

to take that one last bite and be completely over full and miserable for what seemed like an eternity! It was like i knew immediately that it was too much. I went to bed tossing and turning and couldn't sleep. I totally learned my lesson. I will never let that happen again!

I have also hit a little stall. I am going between 290.4 and 291.6 for the last 3 days....it's driving me crazy..lol. I have lost 30.4lbs since August 18, had surgery on August 21st, so i know i have no room to complain, but it does get frustrating to see it not moving..:biggrin0:.

Others here are likely much better at this than me, but it seems to me that if you're stuck at a certain weight, and you know you're doing what you're supposed to with your eating, then change something else. Weight loss for me has always been a math equation - basically, put out more than you take in.

I'm the last one to tell someone to get more exercise, but it seems like if you keep eating as you are, but increase your activity just a bit - like a walk around the block a time or two - that would be just enough to tip the scales back in the downward direction.

If your body is balancing input and output, do one thing or the other to upset that balance.

Good luck!

Dave

You'll come out the stall eventually.... I didn't officially stall, but had a few blips along the way where i didn't shift any for a while.... but I'd say after the 2 mth mark for me then I started losing again, and now at 3 months I'm losing about 1.5-2lbs each week.

I know exactly what you mean about one mouthful too many.... I did that on a meal out, and suffered the same for a few hours after! You really have o listen to your body and eat really slowly to make sure you get your timing right.

Keep up the good work!

The stall is normal - it will pass. Mine lasted 2 1/2 weeks! I have actually found that increasing my calories can sometimes get me losing again - I think your body gets kind freaked out at times and then your metabolism slows, for me adding in a few extra calories seems to help with that.

I know exactly what you mean about taking that one bite that is too much - it's a killer isn't it? I have also learned not to eat for a while before I go to bed or I will have problems with reflux.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
