OK this too shall pass.....I know there are things that I can munch on its just that they aren't here now. Even if they were, they aren't what I want.

Feeling better now, I guess I just needed to write my feelings down..Thanks for listening to my scattered thoughts....

That head hunger is such a buggar, isn't it??? It's is by chance time for your cycle? I have that issue every month and it is so hard to ignore.

Just keep those good foods close by & do your best to stay on plan. If you fall off, just remember that you have control of the next bite. It's no longer all-or-nothing like it was pre-surgery. You can do this!

Yes it is that time of the month. I didn't even put 2 & 2 together. I guess that explains the ravenous cravings.

I just discovered flavored & roasted almonds online at drugstore.com. I'm sure other online locations sell them but I use drugstore because they deliver to APO addresses. Wasabi, Toffee, salt&vinegar!! I can't wait to eat these (it's my TOTM too).

I have the SAME issue when it's my time, too. It's the only time I want to eat everything in sight. Thankfully, there isn't much crap in the house and I couldn't eat more than a few bites, anyway.

Globetrotter, we have the same nuts at the commissary and they're awesome. I have four different tins of them sitting on the shelf, and when I feel the urge to snack mindlessly three or four nuts make the urge go away. It's a great idea.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
