Bella 0 Posted September 3, 2010 Hi, I'm going home for 2 weeks to Australia in March next year and am wondering what sort of Protein milk drinks that are available there? Here in the UK I drink Slim Fast shakes. I'd prefer them to be chocolate flavour, low fat and have essential Vitamins and minerals in them if possible. If anyone could give me an idea of what is available and where, I'd really appreciate it. Cheers B
WendinAus 0 Posted October 14, 2010 Rest assured Bella, Slim Fast exists in Australia as do several other brands. And yes chocolate is definately available. Optifast is another good option and retails between $40 and $50 Australian. Good luck!
Bella 0 Posted October 16, 2010 Thanks for getting back to me. That's great news. I don't know what I'd do without slimfast! All the best B
petite-size-me! 70 Posted July 10, 2012 Best by far is resource by Nestlé. Available at pharmacy. 20 g Protein in 200 mL, and no bloating agents like optifast! 1 KelBel reacted to this
KristiP 51 Posted September 18, 2012 Best by far is resource by Nestlé. Available at pharmacy. 20 g Protein in 200 mL, and no bloating agents like optifast! Hey petite, I haven't been able to find the Nestle ones anywhere, not even the pharmacy's I've been to. I can find Optifast, Celebrity Slim, Sliim Fast, and a slew of others but I haven't even seen Nestle. I'm on Optifast right now (pre-op) but I noticed last night that the carb to protein ratio is about 50/50, and I want something that is more protein heavy, with minimal carbs. I have such a hard time with them, really bad insulin resistance. Aside from not liking fruit, my IR is the other main reason I don't eat it! Cheers
ozeedonkee 145 Posted September 18, 2012 Atkins is good.... Better carb/protein ratio and tastes good
chubbyperthchick 6 Posted September 18, 2012 I couldn't stand the Optifast shakes so I went to a health food store and just bought 100% whey Protein isolate. I make my own smoothies and add this (because it's flavourless) and I'm noticing a massive difference in my weight loss already. If you don't mind the shakes, there is a brand called "body" who do a slew of flavours and they've got by far the highest Protein content of any of shakes I've looked at (and I've looked at a LOT!) 1 KelBel reacted to this

sweetsexything 3 Posted July 10, 2014 Has anyone tried Slim n Trim from Aldi? Tastes lot better than the Optifast milkshake.
CaroJoy 7 Posted July 16, 2014 I've never tried any of the shakes so thanks for the info. I have my surgery booked for 18th August and see the surgeon again on the 8th so I figure he will get me started on them then. Tho I am seeing the dietician on the 29th July so maybe she will? Who saw a dietician and what did they do?
Calimomof3 20 Posted August 5, 2014 I just got back from Australia and I really enjoyed the Protein Revival w/ 30g protein. They are ready to drink and real reasonably priced at Aldi.
mistysj 1,940 Posted August 5, 2014 My favorite is the Musashi High Protein (not the Low Carb -- it is confusing). I get the vanilla and add some instant coffee or some milo and make it up with Water. I still have some on hand even 15 months out from surgery. It's a quick snack now that I can drink quickly. The Optifast is a bit of a waste in my opinion. Low on Protein and full of sugar. Yes it has some Vitamins but as soon as you are cleared you should be on a Multivitamin tablet.
